Randy Gabel - President

randy.jpgRandy Gabel has 28 years of experience in Fire Service and Emergency Medical Services as a Firefighter / Paramedic. He is currently employed as a Deputy Fire Chief in a Suburban St. Louis County Fire District. He is the primary Public Information Officer and oversees the Public Education and Emergency Preparedness Programs for the community he serves.

Randy has a vast amount of experience as an Instructor for over 25 years. He has been an instructor in numerous Emergency Medical Programs, Missouri Fire Department Instructor, American Heart Association Instructor Trainer, Incident Command System (ICS) Trainer and most currently a CERT Program Instructor / Program Manager. Randy also has taught programs for the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) based at Missouri Western College, St. Louis Community College, and East Central College.

Randy has been married to Joyce for 26 great years and they have two adult boys they are very proud of. Randy has served in the US Navy Reserve, Boy Scout leader, and Subdivision Trustee President.

 

Scott Mullins - Vice President

scott.jpgScott has been employed with a suburban St. Louis County fire department for nearly 14 years beginning as a Firefighter – Paramedic and advancing into an executive fire department position for the past 5 years. He has been a State of Missouri Licensed Paramedic for 15 years and a Firefighter since 1977. He is married and has two children and two step children and he recently became a proud grandfather of Richard William. He has served as the treasurer of the Eureka Sports Association and coached a baseball team.

Scott grew up in West St. Louis County where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Scott's parents moved to rural Franklin County when he was 13 and he graduated from Owensville High School.

In 1980 Scott enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until 1987.

Scott began his military career as a Fire Protection Specialist at Eielson AFB Alaska. He steadily promoted to complete his tour at Eielson as a Station Captain. During his stint in Alaska Scott became certified as a State of Alaska EMT Instructor and a State of Alaska Fire Service Instructor and taught College level Classes at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

After transferring to Blytheville AFB Arkansas Scott was promoted to Assistant Chief of Technical Services and received his Associate of Applied Science in Fire Protection Degree from the Community College of the Air Force

In 1987 Scott received an Honorable Discharge from the USAF and returned to home.

Scott received his Paramedic License from East Central College.

Scott has attended six courses at the National Fire Academy and is currently enrolled in the Executive Fire Officer Program.

Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology from the University of Cincinnati

Scott is also currently enrolled in the Grand Canyon University Masters of Science in Executive Leadership Degree Program

 

Joyce Gabel - Office Manager & Program Coordinator

 

joyce.jpgJoyce has worked in the customer service business for more than 25 years in various positions from Inventory Clerk to Shift Supervisor. She worked for United Van Lines for 15 years; Gabel Petroleum for 4 years; and The Market, Inc for 10 years. She has attended numerous programs at East Central College and St. Louis Community College.; she is a graduate of St. Clair High School. Joyce is married and has two children and been involved in various community programs.

Currently Joyce is the Business / Office Manager for SAR Training.

Joyce is an American Heart Association Instructor and teaches specialty health and food handling programs.

 

 

Michael Wiegand - Security & EM Programs Coordinator

 

wiegand.jpgMichael A. Wiegand has 30 years of experience in Public Safety as a police officer and administrator. He is currently employed as the Chief of Police for the City of Eureka, Missouri, a position he has held for 18 years. He has extensive training in law enforcement and emergency management.

Chief Wiegand is certified in the following:

National Awareness Level Instructor in Weapons of Mass Destruction

State Emergency Management Agency CERT Instructor/ Trainer

Missouri Peace Officers Standards and Training, Generalist Instructor

Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor

American Heart Association Instructor

Chief Wiegand instructs crime prevention and emergency management programs for his community as well as the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

 

Scott Barthelmass - Marketing Director and Special Programs

Scott Barthelmass is a full time Police Officer, Volunteer Firefighter / Paramedic, and works as part of a local Children’s Hospital Emergency Transport team. He brings a long and prestigious background in all of these fields. He is and Outstanding Instructor and recognized Locally, State Wide and even Nationally as a speaker and Instructor.
